During this workshop, you will choose a hat and design from my collection, trace the design to the hat, and then burn over the tracing to create your own unique, personalized, fashion statement! You do not need to be able to draw or be artistic. The instructor will teach you what to do and how to do it! A variety of designs and hats (sizes are adjustable and fit most) will be available to choose from. All craft and sip events include materials and supplies and a glass of wine. Join Lemon Creek Winery for the return of our Sunday Craft and Sip series with a 2D Needle Felting (wool painting) workshop on Sunday March 3rd from 4-6pm. Learn how to create a unique work of art in this step-by-step class led by Laura Gutzwiller. Laura will talk a bit about how needle felting works, the types of wool you’ll be using, and explain the different types of felting needles. During this class, you’ll be using a multi-needle tool, some single needles in comfortable handles, and be working on a firm wool mat for the best control. This class is unique- you’ll learn how to make a miniature two-dimensional wool painting that is about 2.5×3.5”! Laura will teach you how to create a small landscape and how to “paint with fiber”. You’ll learn tips and tricks to make your tiny wool art durable enough to be framed and displayed. Feel free to let your creativity blossom and change anything about the design to make it your own- add more trees, flowers, clouds, etc.
No experience necessary! Come for a relaxing, fun class and learn a new skill to encourage your creativity! All materials are included to create one framed piece of art.
