Holiday Wine Pairings!

2020 Thanksgiving Pairings:

Appetizers: Start your Turkey Day off with a Dry Brut Champagne (Blanc de Noirs or Blanc de Blanc), a light dry white wine such as our Pinot Grigio, or for something with a touch of sweetness like our Kerner or Grand Lacs Blanc

First Course (Soup or Salad): 2018 Dry Riesling, 2017 Pinot Grigio or Grand Lacs Blanc. Something light and fruity pairs great with the lighter soup or salad fare. Dry Riesling is a fantastic pairing with pumpkin or butternut squash soup. Check out one of our favorite recipes here! https://www.loveandlemons.com/butternut-squash-soup/

Turkey or Ham Pairings: For a light dry red, our 2017 Pinot Noir is a tasty pair. If you’d like a white or rosé, try the 2018 Dry Gewurztraminer, 2018 Dry Riesling, 2018 Kerner or our new Great Lakes Rosé.

Darker Meats: We recommend a nice dry or semi-dry red with your darker meats. The 2017 Merlot, 2017 Meritage or Pheasant Run Red are all great options.

Sweeter Wines for Thanksgiving Meats: For you sweet wine lovers the 2018 Sweet Riesling, Lighthouse Red & Lighthouse White are good go-to options for your Thanksgiving meal.

Mashed Potatoes & Stuffing: The smooth and rich 2018 Reserve Chardonnay or the delicately fruity Pinot Blanc.

Rich Chocolate Desserts: The fruit-forward 2017 Merlot, semi-dry Pheasant Run Red or for a sweet red our Ruby Rosé.

Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie: Something with a bit of sweetness pairs great with pie! Silver Beach Sauterne or Semi Sweet Riesling have just the right sweetness to pair with your dessert.

Dessert Wines: Cherry Wine and all of our delicious Ice Wines!
